DETROIT (WKZO) -- A public hearing is planned for Thursday in Detroit for residents to voice their opinions about operating Belle Isle as a state park.
Governor Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing are reportedly close to a deal on the matter. The Detroit City Council could vote on the plan as early as January 29th.
The deal, which would save the city eight-million dollars a year in operating costs, would include a ten-year lease arrangement with the state while the city would retain ownership.
