ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC) - A 24-year-old Zeeland man is now expected to recover from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash on Friday night in Robinson Township. Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Greg Rotman and fellow deputies were called to the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive and 120th Avenue around 9:30 PM. A northbound Audi A4 drove through the stop sign and broadsided Christopher Hodge’s eastbound Ford Focus.
Hodge had to be extricated from his vehicle and was eventually flown to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, where his condition was upgraded from serious to fair the next morning. The unnamed 23-year-old Kentwood man in the other vehicle was briefly treated for injuries at Spectrum-Zeeland Community Hospital. Sgt. Rotman added that alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash, and the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office for possible criminal charges.
