LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder says that he supports allowing residents to vote to decide on how to pay for proposed road upgrades.

During his third State of the State address on Wednesday, Snyder proposed raising 1.2-billion dollars a year more from drivers to repair roads in Michigan.  Bills could be introduced as soon as next week proposing a higher gasoline tax and increased vehicle registration fees.

Snyder says that he is open to giving voters a choice, but reiterated that doing nothing will only increase a growing road funding deficit.
