HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Those motorists who had to wait until the end of the week paycheck was deposited before filling up their gas tanks were the proverbial losers in the Lakeshore’s version of gas price lottery. An overnight spike of around a quarter per gallon made the average for regular fuel stand at $3.34, according to this morning’s weekly survey of Holland area stations. One retailer held out for the lower mark of $3.12, but the others were an almost uniform $3.35 when canvassed. While today’s mean is four cents higher than last Friday’s poll, it is nine pennies less than a year ago. Triple-A’s daily surveys had marks of $3.29 nationally and $3.27 statewide.
