LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Snyder will deliver his State of the State address this evening. If he holds true to form, he will open with his successes, and then rededicate himself to pursuing those things on his check off list he has yet to accomplish.
That includes finding new funding for roads, getting a rewrite of the Blue Cross Blue Sheild reform out of the legislature, pushing his education Achievement Authority for the state’s most troubled schools and dealing with Detroit’s financial problems.
House Minority Leader Tim Greimel, with a few of his democratic colleages at his side, stood under the Capitol dome in Lansing yesterday to deliver what he called “the Real State of the State”.
In the speech he accused the Governor mainly of breaking promises to create jobs, improve health and make communities safer. He says house democrats plan a statewide listening tour, that will begin next month to collect complaints about the impact of what he says was Snyder’s “extremist reinvention” of the state and gather solutions.
WKZO AM 590 and FM 96.5 will have the most complete coverage in the State tonight with a two hour preview with Michael Patrick Sheil and our own Jay Morris beginning at 5 p.m. featuring key interviews. We will have the Speech itself at 7 p.m. and the democratic response with Senator Gretchen Whitmer.
