DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors is expecting 2013 to be brighter than last year, with company officials saying they expect pre-tax global profits to "rise modestly."

The automaker had a roughly four-billion-dollar profit through the first three quarters of 2012.  The projection came at a Deutsche Bank conference in Detroit Tuesday.

Seventy-percent of GM's vehicles are being upgraded in the U.S. by the end of this year, including a brand new 2014 model year Corvette Stingray.
