HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - It may not be a routine meeting of Holland’s Parks and Recreation Commission this afternoon. The panel will be going over three long-standing institutions – the Holland Civic Center, Windmill Island Gardens and the DeGraaf Nature Center – and see what the future holds for them. Discussions over what to do with the aging Civic Center, along with renovating Windmill Island and the DeZwaan Windmill, have been ongoing for some time. The commission will also look at the Community Parks and Recreation Plan drafted three years ago, seeing what progress has been made for implementing some of the initiatives in that document, and considering what changes need to be made now. The commission meets at the Parks and Cemeteries office on East 24th Street at 4 PM.
