GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) - An unnamed 39-year-old Laotian man was arrested in Holland last Tuesday as part of a coordinated effort by agents of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The suspect had prior convictions for sexual assault, assault and petty theft, and was one of 97 wanted persons apprehended in 11 West Michigan communities. The enforcement action was targeted towards what agency officials say were “criminal aliens and egregious immigration violators.” The unnamed Laotian and others are in ICE custody pending “removal proceedings.”
