UNDATED (WKZO) -- The 2013 Oscar nominees were announced Wednesday night leaving Hollywood with much to talk about. Blazing the trail for Best Director are Steven Spielberg (Lincoln), Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty), Ben Affleck (Argo), Ang Lee (Life of Pi), and Tom Hooper (Les Miserables).
Generating the most buzz however is not who received a nomination, but instead who didn’t. Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master) and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained) were both snubbed by the influential Directors Guild of the America leaving movie buffs puzzled.
According to Celebration Cinema’s movie guru Ron VanTimmeren, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln will sweep the big categories of the night. VanTimmeren says Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director are all anticipated wins for the film.
VanTimmeren made other Oscar projections calling Best Supporting Actor for Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master), and Skyfall from the title movie for Best Song.
The Academy Awards will air Sunday Feb. 24 on ABC. Watch above for the full Oscar scoop.
