GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - Jail time and fines were imposed on a 23-year-old Zeeland woman for causing a crash that injured three Holland persons last August. Regina Lopez will spend six months behind bars and pay nearly 900 dollars as her sentence after pleading guilty to a felony count of driving without a license causing injury. Authorities say that not only didn’t she have a license, but she was without insurance when she drove her pickup truck through a stop sign on 120th Avenue at Quincy Street on Holland’s North Side in the pre-dawn hours of last August 29th, broadsiding a car that was going through the intersection. Lopez and her baby son in the cab of the truck were not hurt; the other driver, 25-year-old Tabitha Pirrotta, along with a front-seat passenger, 34-year-old Andrew Bloemendaal, had to be extricated by rescue crews. They, along with a back-seat occupant, 28-year-old Timothy Strazanac, were all hospitalized; Bloemendaal critically.
