JAMESTOWN, MI (WHTC) - A mother’s frantic call for help ended up well in eastern Ottawa County. Sarah Lichti had lost control of her minivan around 12 Noon yesterday, as it skidded off of Quincy Street near 12th Avenue in Jamestown Township and ended up in a ditch. The 38-year-old Hudsonville woman was able to get out of her vehicle, but told dispatchers that her children had fallen out of the minivan and into a nearby creek. Sheriff’s dive teams were sent to the scene, but as Sergeant Brian Buter explained, they weren’t needed. Lichti's husband arrived with the kids safe and sound, and it was determined that a head injury suffered by the driver in the crash may have led her to believe that her children were with her at the time. Lichti was taken to Metro Health in Wyoming for treatment of a minor injury and was initially listed in stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
