HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Crews from two Holland Public Safety firehouses responded to a house fire in the 100 block of East 18th Street on Saturday evening. The front entrance was in flames when firefighers arrived, but they were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, and about $1,500 of damage was done to the entrance and front porch. The house was unoccupied at the time, and no firefighters were injured. Investigators initially believe that the blaze was unintentional, and may have been caused by "careless disposal of smoking materials," according to PSD Fire Operations Captain Chris Tinney.
