LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Allendale farmer Fred Walcott of Valley View Pork was named by Governor Snyder to the state Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development. The five-member panel directs the department of the same name that oversees marketing and regulation of the state’s food industry. Walcott will be one of three Republicans on the board, and his four-year appointment must also be approved by the state Senate.
