Hope Wins, GVSU Splits on Thursday; Limited Prep Roundball Slate Tonight

UNDATED (WHTC) - A limited slate of high school basketball is on tap along the Lakeshore today. Hear the Coopersville at Hamilton boys’ contest on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 6:40 PM. The scheduled Grandville at Holland game has been cancelled, while Zeeland West plays Caledonia for a tournament title at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, and Saugatuck’s girls travel to North Muskegon. The Crusader Tournament, hosted by Calvary Schools of Holland, begins a two-day run at the Civic Center with afternoon girls’ action, as Black River takes on Howardsville Christian and Calvary meets Wyoming Lee. The same match ups are on tap this evening in the boys’ competition.

Nate Snuggerud scored 19 points as Hope defeated visiting Alma last night, 83-69. The Flying Dutchmen travel to Adrian tomorrow, with broadcast time on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com//listen-live at 2:40 PM.

Grand Valley State split a doubleheader with visiting Walsh last night. Briauna Taylor tossed in 18 points as the Laker women won, 84-52. The visiting Knights scored six points in the last 44 seconds to come from behind and beat the GVSU men, 83-79. Grand Valley has another twin bill tomorrow at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, hosting Malone.

In state major-college basketball last night: Michigan won at Northwestern, 94-66; and Detroit defeated visiting Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 74-59.
