UNDATED (WHTC) - It's election day in two Allegan County school districts today. Martin officials are hoping that a 5.5 million-dollar bond issue passes that would help create a new community center for the county's second-smallest public school district by enrollment. A building donated 101 years ago would be torn down to make way for the new structure. The proposal would raise the debt millage to 7 mills. Meanwhile, Hopkins schools are asking for the passage of the 18-mill non-homestead levy now instead of in May or later, and for two years instead of one. Polls are open until 8 AM. No other districts or municipalities along the Lakeshore are holding elections today, one of four designated dates available annually statewide.
