HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - A two-vehicle crash on Holland’s North Side last night hospitalized both drivers involved.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Greg Rotman, 37-year-old Felipe Enriquez of Holland Township was headed north on 136^th Avenue, while 18-year-old Brianne Payne, also of Holland Township, was going west on Riley Street, when they met by accident. Enriquez' vehicle apparently drove through a red light and broadsided Payne's car.

Both drivers were initially taken to Holland Hospital, but while Enriquez stayed at that facility in stable condition, Payne was transported to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, where her condition was upgraded overnight from critical to serious. Sergeant Rotman added that alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
