HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The effort to fight gang-related crime in Holland received a boost yesterday with a 76-page federal grand jury indictment of 31 alleged members and associates of Holland’s Latin Kings on various charges, including racketeering, firearms possession, and large-scale distribution of cocaine and marijuana. The counts culminated a joint investigative effort by federal and state law enforcement agents, who have collected 29 of the 31 persons named in the indictment, including four picked up last July. Although the probe has gone on for the better part of two decades, authorities say that it picked up steam three years ago when various agencies began to pool their efforts. The investigation continues, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com).
