Local Lawmakers, Financial Observer Unimpressed with State of Union Address

UNDATED (WHTC) - The State of the Union address apparently didn't impress some leading local observers along the Lakeshore.

Zeeland Congressman Bill Huizenga has only been in Washington for two years, but he felt that what the President said had an all-too-familiar ring to it. St. Joseph’s Fred Upton was thinking along the same lines when he said that time is short and it’s critical that Washington works together to address enormous challenges.

Investment Adviser Kevin Clark of the Holland Office of Raymond James added during his weekly appearance on "WHTC in the Morning" that the State of the Union address “usually has no impact on the stock markets, and last night’s State of the Union will have even less.” He added that there was a “huge disconnect” between what the President remarked and what his administration has been doing.
