DETROIT (WKZO) -- Hundreds turned out in downtown Detroit in their pajamas or underwear Saturday for a charity run.

It was "Cupids' Undie Run"  to benefit the Children's Tumor Foundation and it was the first time the event was held in Detroit. They raised about 80-thousand dollars for the charity, exceeding their goal by 30-thousand dollars.

Whoever scheduled this event for the dead of winter had a real sense of humor.

The event began in Washington three years ago and has grown to 17 cities worldwide.

A team from Quicken Loans garnered 22-thousand dollars for the run and Chairman Dan Gilbert will match up to one-thousand dollars for runners who raise at least 500 dollars.
