HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The West Michigan Airport Authority welcomed back two familiar faces and could be saying hello soon to a new municipal member.
The Holland Township Board tonight considers resolutions to request admission into the West Michigan Airport Authority, along with putting a companion one-tenth millage question on the May 7th ballot. A number of business owners have petitioned the township to join the agency that oversees operations at West Michigan Regional Airport. Holland, Zeeland and Park Township are currently members of the WMAA.
Meanwhile, former Zeeland Mayor Les Hoogland and Allegan County Commissioner Jim Storey were formally approved as new members of the 11-member West Michigan Airport Authority board. Hoogland returns as one of his city’s representatives after a year’s absence, while Storey, who was appointed to represent his county, is also coming back to the panel that he had chaired for two years when it was formed in 2008.
