In girls’ prep round ball results last night: Hamilton 53, Holland 48; Holland Christian 52, Unity Christian 39; in overtime, Grandville 45, West Ottawa 42; Zeeland East 48, Reeths-Puffer 44; Byron Center 53, Zeeland West 18; Covenant Christian 43, Saugatuck 25; and Fruitport Calvary 55, Calvary Schools of Holland 35.

Hope College has both of its basketball teams in action tonight. While the Flying Dutch entertain Olivet at DeVos Fieldhouse, the Flying Dutchmen battle the Hornets in Kalamazoo, with coverage on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live at 7:40 PM.

In state major college basketball last night: Michigan beat Ohio State in overtime, 78-74; and Central Michigan lost to Akron, 68-56. This evening, Michigan State hosts Minnesota, Western Michigan entertains Kent State, and Eastern Michigan is home to Buffalo.

Dennis Wideman had a goal and an assist, as visiting Calgary beat the Red Wings last night, 4-1. Detroit is at St. Louis tomorrow evening, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 7:40 PM.

Patrick Kane scored twice as the Blackhawks won at San Jose last night, 5-3. Chicago skates at Phoenix tomorrow evening.
