UNDATED (WHTC) – Hope College won a pair of basketball games on Saturday. At DeVos Fieldhouse, Nate Van Arendonk tossed in 16 points as the Flying Dutchmen beat visiting Albion, 97-73. In Alma, Liz Ellis and Meredith Kussmaul each scored 11 points as the Flying Dutch defeated the host Lady Scots, 79-34. Grand Valley State split a pair of basketball games at Ferris State on Saturday. In the opener, Kat LaPrairie came off the bench to score 19 points in 20 minutes of play, leading the Lady Lakers to an 83-73 decision. The nightcap came down to the final moments, as Daniel Sutherlin’s layup with 23 seconds left lifted the Bulldogs past the visiting Lakers, 59-58. Next Thursday, GVSU’s teams are in Marquette to face Northern Michigan.
