HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - When the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre begins its 42nd season in June, Richard Perez will be its new managing director. He came on board on Friday from a stint as the associate artistic director with the Chicago Dramatists group, and succeeds Mary Shakel, who retired last year after four decades with the Theatre, including 33 years as its managing director and 28 as its producing director. Perez will also join Hope College’s faculty as an assistant theatre professor, and will begin his teaching duties at the school in the fall.
