HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- Downtown Holland is hosting an ice sculpture contest the weekend of January 10th and 11th. More than 20 carvers will take part in the two-day event, transforming giant blocks of ice into glistening works of art. The competition begins Friday the 10th, on Eighth Street with a buffet-style compulsory competition between 6 and 8 P.M. Then the really hard part, with competitors challenged to move their sculptures to the display area across the street. Saturday the 11th, an ice sculpting demonstration and seminar take place between 10 and 11 A.M. The free style competition takes place Saturday afternoon between 12:30 and 4:30 P.M.
