HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- Most of the talk this week has centered around restoration times for utility crews to get the power back on. There are others who are also dealing with the cold and many of them are at the Holland Rescue Mission. Director Daryl Bartlett says at the moment, there are more than 100 men and only two beds are available right now at the men’s shelter. He also says many area residents were very generous during the month of December and all people in the men’s and family’s shelters received at least one Christmas present. Bartlett wants all who have helped out to know how much they are appreciated but always, the need continues. At this point, Bartlett says they’re about 30 percent away from the goal to run the shelter for next year. Donations are tax-deductible.
