LANSING (WKZO) -- There will still be tens of thousands of people throughout Michigan who will spend Christmas in the dark and in very cold houses.

There are still approximately 242-thousand homes and businesses without power across the lower part of the state.  Both DTE and Consumers Energy have brought in hundreds of linemen from out of state to help work around the clock in an effort to restore power.

DTE claims that 90-percent of its customers will get their power restored by the end of Tuesday, while Consumers Energy is now saying it may have some restored over the next two days.
