JAMESTOWN, MI (WHTC) - Speed and an icy road were considered factors in a two-vehicle crash that hospitalized a 44-year-old Kentwood man in Jamestown Township last night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, 16-year-old Taylor Contreras of Jenison was driving westbound on Riley Street, just past Kenowa Avenue, while Brian Debyle was heading in the opposite direction. Contreras lost control and skidded into Debyle’s vehicle head on; causing him to be pinned in his vehicle and needing extrication by Jamestown Township Fire Rescuers.
DeByle and a back seat passenger were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of several injuries; Contreras was not hurt, while her passenger, a 15-year-old sister, suffered bumps and bruises. The incident remains under investigation.
