HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The Holland Public Safety Department is reporting an accident that happened early this morning. Captain Jack Dykstra says a vehicle that was northbound on Waverly Road making a left turn onto 24th Street about 4 A.M. crossed in front of a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle, while veering to avoid an accident, lost control and went across the road. The vehicle struck the north side of the Americas Best Inn and Suites building, injuring a guest sleeping in the room where the car struck the wall. The 33-year-old female hotel guest was treated at Holland Hospital and released. The driver of the northbound vehicle, which caused the accident, was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way. The driver of the vehicle that hit the wall, a 61-year-old Zeeland man, was not at fault and not injured.
