UNDATED (WHTC) -- A man taken into custody last Friday morning remains in the Ottawa County Jail. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Family Fare store on Butternut Drive in Holland Township just after midnight after receiving reports that a man was in the store wielding a knife. Lieutenant Mark Bennett said the man didn’t hurt anyone and did not try to rob customers or cashiers, he simply wanted some beer. Deputies took 20-year-old Michael Calanchi to jail Charges against him include armed robbery and two counts of assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer. Calanchi was arraigned this morning and bond set at 100-thousand dollars.
