Congress Finally Did It: A Bipartisan Budget Agreement has Been Made

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHTC) -- Lawmakers announced early this evening that an agreement has been reached on a two-year federal budget.  Democratic Senator Patty Murray and Republican Representative Paul Ryan announced the details of the agreement at an evening news conference.  The deal avoids a January 15th government shutdown and sets federal spending levels through October 1st of 2015.  Michigan Congressman Bill Huizenga had this to say about the budget agreement, “While not perfect, this budget agreement is a small step in the right direction” and “Now that spending levels are agreed upon, I am hopeful that Democrats and Republicans can continue to build on this bipartisan foundation.”
