THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS (WHTC) - The Dutch Parliament and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Netherlands have announced that its consulate in Chicago will remain open. Legislative leaders in Lansing had petitioned The Hague to maintain its Midwest presence after His Majesty’s Government declared in June that it wanted to close the offices in the Windy City. There is a strong Dutch presence not only along the Lakeshore, but also in central Iowa.
