UNDATED (WHTC) - In this festive holiday season, students and staffers of two Southwest Michigan schools are in mourning.

Visitation is Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM in Holland’s Christ Memorial Church for Joshua Hoppe, a 30-year-old Hamilton High teacher and coach killed this past Wednesday when his car skidded under a semi’s trailer as the rig pulled out from the Tulip City Truck Stop onto M-40. A funeral service at that church is on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 PM.

Meanwhile, visitation is today and tonight at Langeland’s Kalamazoo Westside Chapel for Anneka and Landon Vels, with a 11 AM service tomorrow at Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo. The 17- and 13-year-old siblings from Otsego died when the Vels’ van, heading for classes at Heritage Christian Academy, slid off of G Avenue in Oshtemo this past Tuesday, struck and tree and burst into flames.
