OTTAWA COUNTY, MI (WHTC) -- A program created by the National Center for Fathering has been received with enthusiasm at a West Ottawa Public School. More than 60 dads have signed up to be a Watch D.O.G. or Dads of Great Students at Great Lakes Elementary School. Great Lakes first Watch D.O.G.S. father and child event in October drew 92 adult men and more than 130 students. Since then, 68 men have registered for the program, with at least two Watch D.O.G.S. volunteering each week since October. The program is for all grades, from kindergarten through high school and invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles or other father figures to volunteer at least one day all day at their child’s school during the school year.
