Tigers Humilated; Prep Football Begins Tonight


UNDATED (WHTC) - Brandon Moss slugged two homers and drove in six runs, powering visiting Oakland past the Tigers last night, 14-4. The finale of the series in Comerica Park is today. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 12:40 PM.

Ricky Nolasco gave up three hits and struck out 11 in eight innings as the LA Dodgers blanked the visiting Cubs yesterday, 4-0. Chicago is home to Philadelphia at Wrigley Field tomorrow afternoon.

Chris Sale allowed four hits with 12 strikeouts over eight innings as the White Sox downed visiting Houston last night, 6-1. Chicago plays the Red Sox in Boston tomorrow evening.


The Whitecaps swept a doubleheader from visiting Fort Wayne last night. Lance Durham’s three-run homer capped a five-run third inning as West Michigan took the opener, 5-2. Jeff Thompson scattered four hits with six strikeouts over six innings in winning the nightcap, 2-0. The series at Fifth Third Ballpark continues this evening.
