HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) --
The first week of classes at Hope College is already underway and the annual “Time to Serve” program takes place this Saturday. Wilma Hart, Hope’s coordinator of volunteer services says the response this year is pretty good with more than 400 students taking part. Two upperclassmen work with each group. Hart says the purpose of the program is to help new students learn about service while helping and getting to know their community. The mass volunteer effort is part of “New Student Orientation” and takes place this Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
