OTTAWA COUNTY, MI (WHTC) -- The United Way and the Salvation Army combined forces to get school supplies for children in need in Ottawa County. The giveaway of the supplies started this afternoon at the Grand Haven Salvation Army. Shannon Morton, United Ways volunteerism director says that the “Stuff the Bus” campaign has been a success. More than 400 chicldren will benefit from the campaign. Over 30 businesses had collection boxes set up and the value of the itmes collected is more than $14-thousand. The giveaway concludes tomorrow at the Holland Salvation Army between 4 and 6 p.m.
