Tigers Sweep Mets; Late Heroics for Caps

UNDATED (WHTC) - Andy Dirks homered and drove in three runs as the Tigers completed a weekend series sweep of the Mets in New York yesterday, 11-3. Detroit is home to Oakland for the start of a four-game series tonight. Coverage from Comerica Park on 1450 WHTC is at 6:40 PM.

Nick Hundley’s single in the bottom of the 15th inning enabled San Diego to outlast the visiting Cubs yesterday, 3-2. Chicago opens a three-game series in Los Angeles versus the Dodgers this evening.

Jordan Danks homered, while brother John Danks scattered eight hits with five strikeouts over six innings, as the White Sox defeated visiting Texas yesterday, 5-2. Chicago entertains Houston to begin a three-game series at US Cellular Field tonight.


The Whitecaps used eighth-inning RBI singles to sweep a doubleheader from visiting Lake County yesterday. Jeff Holm was the hero in game one, 3-2, while Jared Reaves took honors in game two, 4-3. The series at Fifth Third Ballpark concludes this evening.
