Cabrera, Hunter Lead Tigers Over Daisuke; Caps & Bears Also Win

UNDATED (WHTC) - The Tigers tagged Daisuke Matsuzaka for five runs in the first two innings of his New York debut and went on to beat the Mets in Queens last night, 6-1. Torii Hunter homered and drove in two runs, while Miguel Cabrera added a three-run blast for Detroit. The two teams continue their series at Citi Field this afternoon. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 3:40 PM.

Will Venable's solo homer in the seventh inning broke a 6-6 tie, as San Diego rallied to defeat the visiting Cubs last night, 8-6. The series at Petco Park continues this evening.

Adam Rosales hit one of Texas' five homers and drove in three runs in the visiting Rangers' 11-5 triumph over the White Sox last night. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this evening.

Michael Bush returned to Oakland and rushed for two Chicago touchdowns, as the visiting Bears beat the Raiders in exhibition action last night, 34-26. The final pre-season tuneup for the Monsters of the Midway is this coming Thursday evening, when they welcome Cleveland to Soldier Field.
