UNDATED (WHTC) - Torii Hunter cracked a two-run double in the seventh to put the Tigers in front, and Miguel Cabrera slugged a three-run two-bagger in the eighth to cap the scoring, as Detroit downed visiting Minnesota last night, 7-1. The rubber game of the series at Comerica Park is this afternoon. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 12:40 PM.

Scott Hairston’s three-run homer in the seventh inning broke a 6-6 tie, and visiting Washington went on to defeat the Cubs last night, 11-6. The finale of the four-game series at Wrigley Field in Chicago is today.

Dayan Viciedo’s grand-slam homer capped a five-run fourth inning for the White Sox, and that was all that was needed in a 5-2 triumph at Kansas City last night. Chicago goes for the series sweep of the Royals at Kauffman Stadium this evening.

Tyler Goeddel drove in three runs with a four-hit performance, as Bowling Green beat the Whitecaps last night, 9-1. The series at Bowling Green Ballpark continues this evening. Catch all of the action on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 7:55 PM.

The Lions have their third preseason game on tap tonight, welcoming New England to Ford Field in Detroit.
