HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The Holland City Council had a long discussion about beekeeping on Wednesday night. There were a few beekeeping experts in the audience. GVSU professor Anne Marie Fauvel from the Liberal Studies in Biology says it’s good to know that more people are interested in beekeeping. She said that she's glad that a city like Holland would pass an ordinance allowing beekeeping in the city because there is a problem with the honeybee population. The Beekeeping Ordinance was approved with an amendment to item number eight, that the first honeybee permit would be for a period of three years and renewals would have a duration of two years.
