DETROIT (WKZO) -- There are more than 100 objections to the Detroit bankruptcy eligibility from interested individuals or parties. One of the largest petitions submitted to U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Steven Rhodes by Monday's deadline came from the AFSCME union, which claims the bankruptcy filing "runs ramshackle over local self-government." Representatives of Detroit's two pension systems met with representatives of Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr and the Milliman actuarial firm Monday in an attempt to bridge their dispute on the level of current pension underfunding.
