UNDATED (WHTC) - Two no-body contact advisories for Lake Michigan beaches along the Lakeshore this week have been lifted. The Allegan County Health Department withdrew its advisory on Thursday morning for Pier Cove Beach south of Saugatuck. Bacterial levels were seven times the state’s maximum safe standard for bathing on Monday, but the E. coli count has fallen now to less than a 10th of the 300 per 100 milliliters threshold. South Bench in South Haven had its advisory lifted on Friday; that caution had been up there for over a week for a similiar situation believed to have been caused by soil runoff from heavy rains.
