Holland's Mayor Reconsiders US Senate Ambitions After Camp Pulls Out

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- Will he or won’t he?  That question comes up after the head of the U.S. Ways and Means Committee, Dave Camp of Midland, announced on Friday that he would NOT be seeking the Senate office being vacated by Carl Levin.  The he who “might” seek the office is Holland’s Mayor, Kurt Dykstra.  There was speculation earlier this year when Dykstra showed a tongue-in-cheek slide show, "Dykstra 4 Senate," during the Tulip Time Festival Luncheon.  Rumor has it that he may be resuming an exploration of running for the U. S. Senate and could be making a statement soon.  Former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, a Hope College graduate from Byron Center, announced that she would run for the U.S. Senate and is already campaigning.
