HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The Holland City Council voted to accept the recommendation of staff to install some safety features at Smallenburg Skate Park. After receiving several complaints from local residents about noise and some bad behavior, the city decided to do something to rectify things. City Manager Ryan Cotton and some members of the City Council have been observing at different times at the park. Cotton says, "We think a fence, the lighting and other measures, like the closing time and some additional police efforts will make a difference." It will take up to three weeks for the fencing materials and up to six weeks for the lights. The project will begin as soon as the materials are available.
