WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) - The Ottawa County Board yesterday voted to maintain the county’s Road Commission, but with some provisions aimed at controlling costs. A special task force spent a year looking at the pros and cons of eliminating the road panel and having the overall Board take over supervision of county roads, culverts, drains and bridges. A Memorandum of Understanding for increased collaboration between the two panels was approved by the Board yesterday. The Road Commissioners, whose five members are appointed by the Board, will vote on the memorandum next Thursday.
