COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - A Middleville family of six, apparently heading home from vacation, had their holiday ruined by a driver now wanted by authorities. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant John Wolffis, the unnamed 42-year-old father was driving a truck that was hauling a camper along eastbound I-96 when, around the 17-mile marker south of Coopersville, a black BMW with tinted windows that had been speeding aggressively around traffic darted right in front of the pickup. The truck lost control, went first onto the right shoulder, and then veered left across the roadway before rolling over in the median and coming to rest on the roadway.
As the BMW sped away, with a younger Caucasian man driving and a blonde woman as a passenger, the family left behind all suffered minor injuries, with a seven-year-old girl taken to DeVos Children’s Hospital for treatment. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash and may have more information on the wanted vehicle and its occupants is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com).
