SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - It was a perfect weekend weather-wise to enjoy the waters of Lake Michigan, but for those on South Haven’s South Beach, no-body contact advisories were still posted. Local officials believe that runoff from heavy rains last week that skirted just south of the Lakeshore led to high bacterial levels that put the cautions out, and further testing led to the lifting of the advisory on the North Beach on Friday. However, it won’t be until Wednesday at the earliest before the South Beach gets the all clear, as the next testing isn’t until tomorrow.
