HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Holland welcomed the first full weekend of spring-like weather with a plethora of activities. A number of locations accepted old and expired prescription drugs for safe disposal during a four-hour, nationwide take-back effort on Saturday. Yesterday, more than a thousand motorcyclists were at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds for the annual “Blessing of the Bikes,” while the first Queens Criterium sprint bicycle race was held in downtown Holland in a pre-Tulip Time event prior to next Saturday’s start of Holland’s signature attraction.
The countdown towards Holland’s annual signature event continues this evening in neighboring Zeeland, where the eighth annual downtown Dutch Dance Event takes place from 6 to 7 PM on Main Street between Elm and Church streets. Students from both East and West High Schools will be performing Klompen Dancing in wooden shoes in advance of their efforts during the upcoming eight-day festival that begins on Saturday.
