UNDATED (WHTC) - Alex Gordon’s grand slam home run capped a five-run 10th inning for visiting Kansas City, as the Royals defeated the Tigers yesterday, 8-3. Detroit welcomes Atlanta to Comerica Park this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6:40 PM.

Luis Valbuena’s homer in the ninth inning broke a 3-3 tie, and the Cubs went on to win at Miami last night, 4-3. The series at Marlins Park continues this evening.

Chris Sale scattered four hits and struck out seven in seven innings, pitching the White Sox past visiting Tampa Bay last night, 5-2. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this evening.

Josè Sermo’s three-run homer highlighted a seven-run second inning for Wisconsin, and the Timber Rattlers defeated the visiting Whitecaps last night, 7-4. The series at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton continues this evening.

The NFL Draft began last night with opening round selections. Kansas City tabbed offensive tackle Eric Fisher of Central Michigan as the top overall pick, with the Lions choosing Brigham Young defensive end Ezekiel Ansah with the fifth overall selection, and the Bears going with Oregon offensive tackle Kyle Long at the number 20 spot. The second and third rounds will be held tonight, with the fourth through sixth rounds tomorrow.
