ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) -
Ground was broken yesterday on a 55 million-dollar science building on Grand Valley State University’s main campus in Allendale. When completed by the fall of 2015, the 151 thousand square foot, four-story structure will house nine classrooms, 14 faculty and student research laboratories, study spaces, offices, and a greenhouse. School President Thomas Haas said that 30 million dollars in state funding was a sign of Lansing’s confidence in GVSU. GVSU is bonding the remaining 25 million dollars needed for the project, with no tuition money used.
